Recently, I’ve been playing with ChatGPT, OpenAI’s latest language model released to the public.
What makes this AI special is its ability to understand nuances from human dialogue.
Then I realize, I’ve used to work in finance for a couple of years; why not test if it can write a financial analysis for me?
So I grabbed some financial data from a public company.
Converted it to CSV.
Sparkled some prompt engineering.
And a couple of seconds later, it automatically wrote a pretty good elevator analysis, similar to the writeups you’ll find in 10K reports.
Do I think this would replace Analyst jobs? Not in the short term.
We still have to feed it company-specific info and confidential data, if we really want a deep thorough analysis.
For now, it would definitely send waves in areas dealing with Generally Known Knowledge and Administrative Writing.
