People are scary.
Imagine just a few decades ago we gather around in public and watch people burn witches.
We lay back, grab our popcorn, and ask our neighbor Becky how her kids were while watching a literal person get absolutely roasted in public.
Yeah, today we call that Cancel Culture.
It’s fascinating how mob mentality makes everyone go crazy.
You think you’re immune to it; but no.
We’re all susceptible to being swayed even though it doesn’t make sense.
Just look at all the scams being sold by snake oil salesmen feeding on hype and FOMO.
Look at all the financial bubbles caused by “financial experts.”
But I guess peer pressure is just part of human life.
And all we can do is try our best to be critical and kind.
Because if we’re all crazy, then at least we could join a crazy good mob.
Like a charity, or a mob that’s obsessed with trying to solve climate change.
But as long as we mob on the wrong things; people will be scary.
